Honor the Elders & The Grandmother Project
Through The Grandmother Project and Honor the Elders, we provide services and gifts to exemplary Elders and wisdomkeepers who have lived a life of service to their communities. In the past year, we have provided grant writing support to All Nations Gathering Center, Executive leadership to the Global Center for Indigenous Leadership & Lifeways, as well as raised funds to help cover medical costs that exceed the financial capacity of exemplary Elders and Grandmothers. We believe that when we provide needed support to Elders and wisdomkeepers, the whole community benefits.
More About The Grandmother Project
The Grandmother Project supports the well-being and spirit-centered work of dedicated movement matriarchs by using ongoing financial models that uphold the dignity of community-supported eldering. We are committed to supporting our Elders to continue to serve and support in all the ways they can.
Funds raised:
- provide financial support for daily living expenses
- underwrite projects that Movement Matriarchs feel are theirs to do with their remaining time
- help support the creation of legacy records (written archives, audio and video recordings, etc) to preserve and share the lives, work, and wisdom of these Grandmothers.
We envision abundant generosity flowing to women who have lived full lives of service to their families and communities. Let’s invest in a world where the mamas and the grandmamas can spend their later years secure that their needs will be cared for as they tend to legacy offerings they feel are theirs to leave behind.
